Here's some guidance on what to wear:

Street Dance

  1. Popular Choice: Joggers: Many of our dancers prefer to wear joggers due to their loose fit, which allows for a full range of movement. Joggers are a versatile option that enables dancers to showcase their unique style and flair.

  2. Prioritize Mobility: Avoid anything overly tight or restrictive in your outfit choice. The ability to move freely and comfortably is essential for dancing.

  3. Knee Pad Consideration: If you plan on wearing shorts, it's important to keep in mind that some dance moves might require you to be on your knees. For added protection and comfort, we strongly recommend wearing soft knee pads.

Remember, your dance attire should enhance your performance and make you feel confident on the dance floor. Choose wisely, and get ready to groove in style! 💃🕺✨

Baby Ballet/pre movers

Introductory Period:

  • During the introductory period, your child can wear anything they feel comfortable moving in.

  • We recommend grippy socks for added safety during dance activities.

  • While tutus and ballet attire/shoes are always welcome and adorable, they are not compulsory at this stage.

After the Introductory Period:

  • Following the introductory period, children are required to wear either ballet shoes or grippy socks for their classes.

  • As your child settles into the world of ballet, we encourage the following attire:

    • For Girls: Ballet pinks are the preferred choice, but tutus are still welcome if your child enjoys them.

    • For Boys: A white T-shirt and shorts are recommended for ease of movement and comfort.

Contemporary

  • Flexibility and Freedom: Opt for clothing that allows you to move freely. Your outfit should be snug but not overly restrictive, enabling you to express yourself fully.

  • Layer Up: Consider layering with items like sweatpants, sweatshirts, or long-sleeved t-shirts. These layers can be easily removed as you warm up and progress through your dance session.

  • Bare Feet or Dance Socks: In contemporary dance, students often choose to go barefoot to connect with the floor, but dance socks are also a great option for added comfort and grip.

  • Knee Pads: For those engaging in floor work, knee pads are an excellent addition. They provide protection and support, ensuring you can explore floor-based movements without hesitation.

Gymnastics

Leotards, Unitards, Shorts, and T-Shirts:

  • Your child can choose to wear a gymnastics leotard, a unitard (a leotard with attached shorts, also known as a biketard), comfortable shorts, or a t-shirt. These options allow for freedom of movement and comfort during gymnastics activities.

Undergarments Consideration:

  • When selecting attire, consider your child's undergarments. Some children may prefer unitards if they don't want their underwear showing during gymnastics moves. Others may be comfortable wearing a regular tank leotard or t-shirt.

Hair Management:

  • Regardless of gender, it's important to keep your child's hair out of their face during gymnastics activities. You can achieve this with a ponytail, bun, braid, or any hairstyle that doesn't interfere with their movements.

Our aim is to create an inclusive and supportive environment where every child can enjoy gymnastics without any restrictions related to attire. Choose the clothing that makes your child feel comfortable and ready to shine on the gymnastics floor! 🤸‍♀️🤸‍♂️💫
